Honoring the Heart of Healthcare: Nurses Week in Ascension Parish
Each year during National Nurses Week, May 6-12, 2026, we pause to recognize the compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication of nurses who serve on the frontlines of care. It was officially recognized in 1993. Here in Ascension Parish, Nurses Week is more than a celebration—it’s a heartfelt thank you to the individuals who show up every day to heal, comfort, and advocate for our community.
From hospitals and outpatient clinics to home care and assisted living communities, nurses play a vital role in every stage of care. They are often the first to greet patients and the last to ensure their needs are met. Their clinical expertise is matched only by their empathy, making them the backbone of our healthcare system.
Local businesses are stepping up to show their appreciation. Excel Rehabilitation Services extends its gratitude to the nurses who collaborate in patient recovery journeys, helping individuals regain strength, mobility, and independence. Francois Bend Assisted Living proudly supports Nurses Week by recognizing the tireless work nurses do to improve lives across the parish. Meanwhile, At Home Care of Louisiana honors the nurses who bring skilled, compassionate care directly into patients’ homes—offering comfort where it matters most, when they need it most.
Together, these organizations celebrate not just the profession, but the people behind it—those who sacrifice time, energy, and often their own well-being to care for others.
To every nurse in Ascension Parish and the surrounding areas: your work does not go unnoticed. Your dedication inspires hope, your compassion brings healing, and your presence makes a difference every single day. This Nurses Week, and every week, we thank you. Also, May 6, 2026 is recognized as Nurses Day. We hope our nurses get lots of love!
